Intermittent fasting in a nutshell.

Intermittent fasting can be a useful tool to accelerate your weight loss efforts.  It may sound daunting, horrible even, but in those of us with fairly chaotic lives, it may actually be not too far off from what you are already doing.

In general the body is either in fat storage mode, or fat burning mode.  While we sleep for instance, our bodies go into fat burning mode, sometimes refered to as ketosis.  But once we eat and break the fast "breakfast", then that process stops.  So simply put, we want to be in fat burn more often than fat storage.  Eating all of our calories in an 8 hour consecutive window (Fasting 16 hours, eating 8 hours) is a common way to accomplish this.

We have to be aware that if we are drinking calories, we are not fasting.  So water is ideal.  You don't have to fast every day.  You don't have to do an 8 hour window.  Some days you may eat one meal and others two (best though if they are breakfast/lunch or lunch/dinner so the meals are both in the same 8 hour window).

With the help of semaglutide (ozempic/wegovy) and tirzepatide (mounjaro/zepbound) the se GLP1 agonist weight loss shots really help intermittent fasting (IF) extremely doable, even easy.  The appetite suppression is outstanding!  And using both as a pair can accelerate the weight loss profoundly.

Keep it simple, use what works for you, and learn to not beat yourself up or consider it a fail if it doesn't happen every day (or even at all).  Every weight loss journey is different.  I'm here to support you nomatter what that may look like as long as it is healthy.
