The Joy I Feel

There is no better feeling as a physician than seeing your patients' happiness.  I feel like in my life, every one of my own experiences has led me to a place of empathy.  I know how it feels to try so hard only to not get results. It felt like I was just supposed to be fat.  And I would joke and say things like, "God made me fat because He knows I would be hoochie!"  

Hearing the results my patients are getting with semaglutide (Wegovy, Ozempic) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro,Zepbound) is overwhelmingly rewarding!  By losing the weight, they are gaining confidence, health, and learning to love themselves.  They are changing their stories from, "This is the heaviest I have ever been," to "I haven't been this small in years!"  

What they are also gaining is metabolic health, cardiovascular health, and less inflammation.  Wegovy has been shown to decrease heart attacks and strokes in patients with cardiovascular disease. And though not indicated (yet) for polycystic ovarian disease (PCOS), more and more women are losing the weight that is key to the treatment of the disorder, leading them to finally achieve pregnancy.  

It is such a profound privilege to be a small part of it. I am no longer living in an obese body. And it is just such joy in sharing what worked for me with so many others!
